Foil BalloonsThe Foil balloon is our most popular balloon. The standard size foil balloon normally used for printing is 18” diameter. They come in a wide range of colours, can be round, heart or star shaped and can be printed in up to 8 colours.
We can also print onto 4” microloons, 9” miniloons (air inflation only) or 36” jumbo foil balloons. The 36” jumbos make great sales markers and can be filled with helium to float or with air and suspended from a ceiling.
18” and 36” foil balloons are fitted with an easy seal for helium filling. Unlike latex balloons these will still be floating long after your event is over and for ongoing promotions they can be re-inflated when they start to go down.
Don’t worry about inflation! If you don’t want to inflate the balloons yourself we can put you in touch with experienced balloon decorators nationwide who will be happy to help you.
Latex balloons come in a wide range of colours including metallic and crystal.
When helium is used to inflate latex balloons we suggest you use a balloon valve for quick and easy sealing, with ribbon or string for your convenience.
You can print any combination of up to 4 colours on a latex balloon. For example: a 3 colour logo on the second side would be classed as a four colour print, as would a 2 colour logo on both sides.
Added bonus! All 4 sides of the balloon can be printed for maximum impact.
Make air inflation easy with an electric inflator! Attach a plastic holder and stick handle, a great childrens give away.
6 Steps To Successful Fundraising With A Balloon Race
1) Firstly, decide on a date to hold the balloon race. We suggest this should be at least 8 weeks in advance to allow time to sell the tickets. If you intend to release 5000+ balloons, you will need to obtain CAA approval.
A balloon release is an event people will want to watch. However, it could also be part of a bigger event such as a company BBQ or a local summer fete where there will be more opportunities to sell tickets on the day as you will have a captive audience.
It is also a good idea to contact your local newspaper to raise awareness of your cause. They may even want to run 2 articles, one before the event and one after.
2) Think about the type of prize you wish to offer the person whose balloon travels furthest. Bear in mind that if you are selling tickets across the whole country, your prize may need to be posted. Cash or vouchers make ideal prizes. However, if you are selling quite locally, any prize would be suitable. You could contact local businesses and ask them to donate a prize such as a meal for two, a DVD player or a food hamper. The better the prize, the more tickets you will sell.
3) As soon as you have received your blank labels you need to sell them on. Selling the opportunity of winning a prize makes it easier to get people to part with their money than just asking for sponsorship.
4) Labels are then completed with the purchaser’s contact details and kept by you to be attached to the balloons on the day of the release. When the label is found, the finder will complete their details and return the label to you. The finders of the balloons should be offered a small prize as an incentive for them to return the labels. This can be as little as £5 to get many labels returned.
A good way to sell tickets is to ask everyone you know to sell 10, 20 or even 30 tickets on your behalf and then return them to you. Most will sell them, and those that don’t, often buy them all for themselves!
Have an idea of how many labels you wish to sell and aim to exceed this by at least 10% – this will give you the best chance of reaching your target. If you find you are selling many more than expected, please plan your balloon and helium needs accordingly
5) Release day! This is an exciting day and people will start to gather quite early on to see the net filling up and of course, they will want to be there for the moment the balloons are released. This is a great opportunity to sell more tickets! Remember to bring your camera and let the local press know.
6) After the release and when the closing date has passed, establish which balloon travelled the furthest and award your prize(s).
